CHRISTIE LINNARTZ
COUNSELING AND COACHING

About
Christie Linnartz Purdy LPC, CPTT, CCPS

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences with a Teacher Certification from Texas Tech University, along with two graduate degrees from Amberton University: a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. My advanced clinical training reflects a deep commitment to trauma-informed, attachment-focused care. I am a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT) through the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals (IITAP) and a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS) through APSAT. I am also a Certified Brainspotting Clinician and have completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
In addition, my professional development includes training in Somatic Experiencing (beginning level), Restoration Therapy, Post Induction Therapy (PIT) through the Meadows Model, and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFiT) Levels 1 and 2. I am certified to facilitate Prepare/Enrich premarital and marriage assessments and am a Trauma-Sensitive HeartMath® Certified Practitioner. My background also includes Life Breakthrough Academy Coaching Certification, Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1, and certification as a Grief Recovery Specialist® through the Grief Recovery Method.
I maintain active membership in the American Association of Christian Counselors and the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), ensuring I stay connected to ongoing research, best practices, and professional collaboration in the field.
As an attachment science therapist, I focus on understanding how you connect with others and how these bonds influence your life and relationships. These attachment styles create patterns that can lead to healthy or unhealthy ways of relating, bringing either joy or pain into our lives. I use attachment theory to help you explore yourself through the lenses of interpersonal neurobiology and somatic psychology. This approach can relieve distressing symptoms and guide you in developing new, healthier ways of interacting with yourself and others.
My specialization in trauma means I use various treatment methods, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Brainspotting, and principles from Somatic Experiencing. These techniques focus on healing the body-mind connection, offering relief from emotional distress caused by traumatic experiences.
My journey to becoming a counselor began while working in college ministry, where I helped people grow spiritually and emotionally since 1994. However, a significant life challenge led me to seek therapy. Through a safe and supportive therapeutic environment, I learned how to rewire my brain and thinking patterns; experiencing this personal growth inspired me to pursue a master's degree in counseling to help others at a deeper level. My faith has played a significant role in my journey, and I am passionate about helping individuals find emotional healing while integrating faith and psychology to facilitate authentic life transformation. I respect and honor each client's worldview and values, meeting them where they are in their journey. Having lived and traveled in various countries, I enjoy working with clients from diverse cultures, lifestyles, and backgrounds. My counseling approach is grounded in evidence-based theories, providing a solid foundation for my work with individuals and couples. I am deeply committed to walking alongside you on your journey toward growth and healing, helping you cultivate healthy patterns and become the person you are meant to be. Whether you're seeking hope and healing or personal development, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
